Cannot use gcin in Linux (im-config installed)

Hello,

I am a new Linux user. I am using Linux Mint 18 Mate and successfully installed gcin. However, I cannot type Chinese with it. Clicking on the En icon or using keyboard shortcuts cannot switch the input method. Browsing some old topics on this forum, I think the problem might be because my computer has im-config installed. After removing im-config, I still cannot use gcin. I reinstalled Linux Mint and im-config is installed again. Probably installed by default? Could you advice what I should do?

與 im-config 無關。參考， mate 應該是與 Ubuntu 相容

試了很多次,安裝成功,也能更改選項,但就是不能切換到gcin使用,只能打英文。鍵盤shortcut沒反應,按輸入法icon可看到gcin的輸入法,選擇後又沒反應。請問是何問題及如何解決? 謝謝

之前看到這個也是Linux Mint的,說不能裝im-config:

但我的Linux Mint應是自動安裝im-config的,我重裝了Linux Mint,只在input methods那裡裝了gcin,im-config已經存在.

我已花了很多天搜尋裝中文輸入法的資料,google能找到的基本上都看過,沒有找到其他可能的原因了...

之前也試過幾個不同的Linux distributions,都裝不到,聽說Linux Mint是最易用的,我便試試,這次是最成功的了,終於裝到gcin,但又用不到 ;(
